Counterpoint Architects is a Salem-based practice delivering residential, commercial and interior projects — from first sketch to final handover.
We took our name from Western classical music. In counterpoint, two or more independent melodies play at the same time, and neither is background to the other. The harmony is made where they overlap — and that idea is where this practice began.
A building works the same way. It gives you an identity; you give it your memories. Our work is where the two meet — which is what our mark has always shown.
Neither lasts on its own. Identity and memory hold only as long as the building does, so everything we draw is made to still make sense to you years from now.
